This practice keeps medical records confidential and complies with the General Data Protection Regulation.
We need to hold personal information about you on our computer systems and in paper records to help us to look after your health needs, and your GP is responsible for their accuracy and safe-keeping.
Please help to keep your record up to date by informing us of any changes to your circumstances.
GP’s and staff in the Practice have access to your medical records to enable them to do their jobs. From time to time information may be shared with others involved in your care if it is necessary. Anyone with access to your record is appropriately trained in confidentiality issues and is governed by both a legal and contractual duty to keep your details private.
How we use your medical records - Important information for patients

- We share medical records with those who are involved in providing you with care and treatment.
- In some circumstances we will also share medical records for medical research, for example to find out more about why people get ill.
- We share information when the law requires us to do so, for example, to prevent infectious diseases from spreading or to check the care being provided to you is safe.
- You have the right to be given a copy of your medical record.
- You have the right to object to your medical records being shared with those who provide you with care.
- You have the right to object to your information being used for medical research and to plan health services.

CCTV is installed internally in public areas and externally for security. Recordings are used entirely at the discretion of the McKenzie Group Practice /NHS Community Health Partnerships, including provision of images to the Police or other official bodies.
